It depends on your use case, but the smaller Gemma 4 models or qwen3.6:9b would probably run OK on that. I recommend trying it, even just for fun. It‘s easy with omlx.
Not enough for coding. 48GB is minimum for a non-lobotomized coding model like qwen, and you'd likely want 64GB to have long context and not kernel panic when Chrome opens.
You could run one of the smaller Gemma models to have a chatty Wikipedia.
I mixed it up and GP is right. But you are also right (which illustrates the point GGP was making)
If you and I are in a phone call (the target of the phone call located in a one-party consent jurisdiction), I can record it or you can record it without telling the other: that's one-party consent, because one of the parties of the call consents to it
At first glance that may sound pointless, but it means a third party outside the call (e.g. phone company) could not record it without one of us consenting
By notifying that the call is being recorded, that now can create two-party consent because you are still on the line (and thus implicitly agree to the recording, but as you and GGP point out that's not always considered consent enough) -- one-party consent would have been if the company on the other side of the line simply recorded the call without telling you
I switched back and forth between "with account"/"without account" a few times now and it seems to work just fine. I stay with the no-account state, as it not only removes the nags, the interface is actually much cleaner and more logical
No idea about Lens, because I never used it. Aren't there webapps or web services for everything these days? I do everything that I do only occasionally via webapps. Barcode parsing for example.
Yes, it’s absolutely useful. You need the logic probe (which I do have, but never use in „standard“ teaching) only if you plan (or need) to monitor more input signals than the analog ones on the scope.
In fact, to demonstrate the very physical foundation of digital computing, it is very useful to use the analog inputs and zoom all the way in to see the slight imperfections in signal transmission.
then 5 pounds of chips on the way back is worth millions of dollars so it can be flown on a passenger jet or fedex jet that is already going here. or a boat and take up 3% of a container
No, not the official VFP as released by Microsoft, but a version made by a well known VFP developer.
Besides that I do know of some developers actually using this for building their software.
No connections here, just know that it exists and is used and well before LLMs became the answer to everything.
